Under a movement known as # appletoo , several employees of Apple have been organized and launched a website with which they seek to collect stories of abuse, harassment, discrimination and salary inequality that have lived within The company, this with the aim of obtaining an immediate response from executives.
Specifically, this movement wants to expose Apple from all the injustices that occur against minority, women, indigenous and Afro-descendant groups. On the site of appletoo.com you can read the following message:
For too long, Apple has evaded public scrutiny about the raw reality faced by Afro-descending colleagues, indigenous and other minority groups, in terms of discrimination, harassment and lack of good working conditions.
No more. We have exhausted all the internal roads, spoken with the leaders and climbing through the business structure, but nothing has changed. It's time to think different.
We are working together to prepare a statement on our behalf, which reflects our stories and a summary of the changes we expect Apple to do.
According to The Verge , employees of Apple carried out an internal survey and the results obtained indicate that there is a serious problem of salary inequality between men and women. Apparently, about 2,000 workers were part of this exercise, thus revealing a salary gap of 6% between men and women.
Additionally, a collective of organized workers of Apple points out that there are also persistent patterns of racism, sexism, inequity, discrimination, intimidation, repression, coercion, abuse, unfair punishment and uncontrolled privilege. Given this, the profile of Twitter known as @ AppleLaborers asks all those employees of the company, as well as third parties, contact them to talk about their stories of previously mentioned topics.
Apple workers are being organized to speak openly about the problems we want to be resolved in our work area.
