What is praised, what criticizes?

Much of the reviews calls similar pro-points of the Ascent, which specially outweight during the test phase, below

  • Great cyberpunk atmosphere
  • Chic optics and sound effects
  • Basically good gameplay loop

Especially for TwinStick shooter fans, the Ascent could be worth a look, as mentioned, among other things, the review of Gamespew mentions. To crating, there is also a lot in the title, for example:

  • Repetitive quest design
  • Balance problems
  • Technology bugs

Our colleagues from Gamestar.de have also published a video test:

Jez Corden from Windows Central summarizes the game in his review as follows:

"The Ascent is a solid development of the twin-stick formula and offer one of the most detailed and most impressive graphics that the new generation has to offer so far. However, the game would have used more polish, there are problems with writing, bugs and glitches. Besides The game suffers from missing testing and just the second half of the game is weakened by balance and structural problems. "

The Ascent has been available since July 29 at the Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One and the PC and available directly from the launch on the Game Pass.
