Elden Ring Lore: Who is Radagon from the Golden Order?
If you have followed the quest series of a certain NPC, you will find out that Radagon is actually the alter ego of Queen Marika. The two beings once shared a body, but they finally separated. It is not known what exactly led to them separated even though the cause could be theorized; Marika was involved in a fatal war with the giants of the countries in between. After defeating her with the help of her husband Godfrey, she cursed one of the giants to guard the flames of his smithy. However, it is possible that Marika did not get away with intact, since Radagon red hair in the article description of the giant's red braid indicates that it is the result of a huge rush.
Whatever the reason for the separation of Radagon and Marika, Radagon continued his own way separately from his other half. He tried to extend his control over the countries and finally hit Rennala in battle. Although they met as enemies, Radagon and Rennala fell in love with each other, which led to marriage. She gave him a major sword to symbolize her love, and her association led to three children. Ranni, Rykard and Radahn became of these children. Finally Godfrey was hunted by Leyndell and was the first of the stained, which caused Radagon to return to his other half and marry her. He even forged the great sword that Rennala had given him, and the Karic Queen was insertable. However, Radagon left a farewell gift: a large rune that made it possible to perfect the act of rebirth.
Radagon and Marika had two children, the twins Malenia and Miquella. During his time at Rennala, Radagon studied magic. Instead, he studied summoning formulas while he was with Marika. He was supported in his studies by Miquella, which gave him numerous summoning formulas as gifts. Finally, however, the night of black knives mentioned in the intro of the game. This meant that Marika was completely disillusioned by the greater will that steered the countries in between, and she used her hammer to smash the Elden ring. Radagon, still faithful to greater will, tried to repair it, but it was too late. Her bodies were merged again and locked up in the earth tree, most likely an act of the true final boss of Elden Ring.
When the player finally meets Radagon, he takes control of Marika's body to prevent the player from becoming Elden Lord. His broken body makes him immune to bleeding and his affinity for divine power makes him very resistant to sacred damage. It is most dangerous at a distance because he can fire extremely fast light panes and immediately teleport himself to the player's location. His hammer receives mighty Aoe moves when his health is low, which makes it even more dangerous to stay too close to him. However, Radagon has a low resistance to fire and many of his melee attacks are easy to predict. Radagon will also be strongly rely on his own haya damage, so that a great resistance in the fight against him can make a major contribution.
Radagon is one of the most important characters in Elden Ring. He is one of the last challenges that the player has to face before he can reach the title Elden Lord. Much of its history is still secret, and only time will show whether the full truth will ever be unveiled.
Eldenring is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and PC.
